There is something about Christmas graphics from the 1950s and 60s that gets me really excited. The idea of the illustration winning out over a photograph and the sense of fantasy as a norm can brings out the magical side of the season. It could also be that I'm an almost obsessive conessieur of fashion illustration and these all seem to have elements of that too. Whatever. 'Tis the season!
Actually...I think I'm also delightfully pre-occupied by the notion of a pink Christmas tree. What a brilliant idea.
And touched by the arrival of the 'comfort dogs' in Newtown in the last few days, I thought we could all use a bit of holiday puppy cheer. MOTHER FREAKIN' PUPPIES!
