Vintage at Southbank: Music

I love big bands.  I love watching live music.  I love, even more, watching people dance.  And when they know what they are doing, both musicians and dancers, it can be a real event.

I made my way to the Torch Club, a make-shift club set-up in the Southbank Centre, to check out Jivin' Miss Daisy, where the gorgeous Anjali Perin lent her vocals to a couple sets of classic standards to get you moving, or be completely in awe of the talent of Anjali and the band.

And though it was early afternoon on a Friday, some of the best dressed characters at the festival made their way onto the dance floor and proved to me that embracing vintage is not just about the clothes you wear...it is a lifestyle.  And one I wish I had!  I took one swing dance class when I was in high school.  And, god dammit, I want to take more!

As much of a firecracker onstage as she is off, Anjali and Jivin' Miss Daisy gave the crowd their all.  Gershwin would be proud  :)
