And I'm not messing around. Winvian Inn; a luxury (and I mean LUXURY) resort and spa deep in the most beautiful depths of Connecticut. It consists of a lodge which is a gorgeous iconic New England-style home, 18 individually-themed cottages and 113 acres of stunning.
There is no way to describe how incredible spending even an afternoon at Winvian actually is. At Christmas, I treated my momma bear to lunch (woah) and her first ever massage (double woah) which took place in a couples room, while a wood fire roared in the corner and we got to enjoy with champagne following the treatment (just shut up). Today, I was happy to have another lovely day with my newly engaged visitors from London and a tall friend from California. We had a tour of the spa, which is beyond the realm of peaceful and calm into something other worldly, and then had lunch in the main house.
Please, I beg you, visit the website and check out the interactive map of the land and the cottages. One is a treehouse, one has a helicopter in it, one has a tree growing through the middle. AMAZING. It's expensive, damn expensive, but probably the nicest and most relaxing treat you can give yourself.
Listen to me. I know best. Deal with it.
